What Does the Job Entail?

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation

  • 4+ years of project management experience OR a bachelor’s degree in construction management, building construction, engineering, or a similar field

  • Positive attitude and commitment to our company values

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to delegate work

  • Exceptional time management skills, as well the ability to estimate work effort and time needed for various construction jobs

  • Good writing skills for proposals and reports

  • Excellent technical skills and an understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints

  • Cost and risk management skills, as well as problem-solving skills

  • Capable of making important decisions under pressure

  • PMP or similar project management certifications a plus

The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Provide contract review and negotiation

  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations

  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met

  • Acquire equipment and material, as well as monitor stocks to handle inadequacies in a timely manner

  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities

  • Supervise the work of construction crew and give them guidance when needed

  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

  • Initiate project management process at receipt of contract

  • Create WBS and begin project planning phase

  • Chair project planning meeting with project management team and field personnel

  • Track, document, and report through project lifecycle
